Clarinda Library expands hours

Officials with the Lied Public Library in Clarinda, Iowa are excited about changes coming up in the next couple of months.

Library Director Andrew Hoppman says the library will have expanded hours beginning September 1st when the library will be open Monday mornings and an additional hour on Saturday afternoons. Hoppmann says voters in Clarinda made the expansion possible.

The expanded hours represent an eight percent increase over the current library hours. Hoppman says another change to the Clarinda Library will be a new computer software program for their catalog system.

Hoffman says the Lied Public Library in Clarinda will be closed on August 11th while his staff makes the transition to the new system.
