McClarnon says the project is about 70 percent done and should be completed August 1st. The Federal Aviation Administration is requiring Clarinda to remove lead contaminated surface and subsurface from the current outdoor firing range located on airport property. A unanimous vote approved a proposal from Seneca Companies of Des Moines to investigate the gun range. McClarnon gave a presentation of Clarinda's 2012 funds. There is positive financial trending in all areas and this is the first time in the last 7 years that the city has had a positive balance in the General Fund.
