Albany Welcomes Asleep at the Wheel

Albany residents are gearing up for a big day on Saturday as they welcome the western-swing band Asleep at the Wheel...who will be in concert Saturday evening.

One of the local organizers of the event, David Smith, says the concert will be on the square in downtown Albany with the stage located in area that holds historical significance to the community.

Smith says response to the concert has been great with people having connections to Albany coming back from all parts of the country.

A full day of activities are scheduled on the square in Albany leading up to the concert Saturday night. The Green River Band will perform at six o'clock and Asleep at the Wheel will take the stage at seven o'clock.
