Schools in our region can participate in a competition that could give them 150 thousand dollars for much-needed projects.
The school garnering the most community votes in the US Cellular campaign will receive the cash, with the next 17 highest vote-getters receiving 50 thousand dollars. The "Calling All Communities" program allows schools to determine what the money will be used for. Past winners have bought new computers, improved outdated buildings, and built kitchen and science labs. The company is asking schools to contact it regarding the campaign, and to start their campaigns this summer to get the most community support when the school year begins.
