An Atchison, Kansas health advocacy committee is in their next stage of planning in an effort to improve county health rankings.

“Live Well, Live Atchison” has tabulated the data from forums held last fall to construct four action teams. These teams will focus on problems identified from the forums, including: teen pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse, smoking, nutrition, corporate funding and fundraising. Atchison Hospital Social Work Department Manager and committee facilitator, Aggie Asher says Live Well, Live Atchison has submitted their work for national recognition.

Asher says the Live Well, Live Atchison committee hopes to have a plan in place, including an evaluation process by January 25th.
