Elwood Bus

The St. Joseph Transit authority has made some changes to its bus service to Elwood, Kansas. Effective July 2nd, instead of the usual three trips to and from Elwood throughout the day, the service will only be provided on demand.

Kurt Janicek, director of St. Joseph Transportation, says the changes had to be made due to funding challenges.

In order to take advantage of the on demand service, passengers needing transportation must call Transit Dispatch at least 24 hours prior to their planned pickup time. A bus will pick them up as close to their home or business as possible. Fare for service to and from Elwood is $1.50 each way, and monthly passes, offering unlimited rides on Transit fixed routes are available starting at $40.
