49th Habitat Home

St. Joseph Habitat for Humanity is celebrating an unusual milestone this week, the completion of its 49th home.

The St. Joseph Habitat is celebrating its 49th house instead of its 50th, because this home was the organization's first rehabilitation project. The house, at 727 South Fifteenth Street, was a one-hundred year old home in poor condition that Habitat restored for Samantha Coker and her four children. St. Joseph Habitat for Humanity volunteer coordinator, Rita Boyer says the open house will include a blessing of the home.
