Relay for Life

The Nodaway County Relay for Life event will be held Saturday at Bearcat Stadium on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

Relay for Life is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The event will be twelve hours to raise awareness and funds to help support the fight against cancer. Relay for Life Co-chair Walter Redden says the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Walking alongside the survivors will be family, friends, and caregivers as well as those currently battling cancer. The event starts at noon and will run until midnight. There will be games, music, and live entertainment to encourage people throughout the day. The walk begins at 6PM and a luminary ceremony begins at 9PM. Cancer survivor and Northwest football assistant coach Joel Osborn will share his story at 8:30.
