Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has announced block grant funding for two Northwest Missouri Communities recovering from last year's flooding.

The city of Craig has been awarded nearly 151 thousand dollars. Big lake will receive more than 143 thousand dollars. Spokesman for the Governor, Scott Holste says last year , Big Lake experienced significant problems with flooding when debris accumulated in the drainage ditches.

Holste adds the city of Craig is also recovering a matching grant from FEMA of nearly 42 thousand dollars for the repairs. Yesterday's announcement from the Governor is in addition to four point six million dollars announced earlier this year to rebuild and repair levees in Buchanan, Carroll, Holt and Platte counties.
