Bridge on 136 Closed

A bridge on highway 136 in Atchison County will be closed starting Monday.

The Cow Creek bridge located about one mile east of Route J will be closed for replacement for about six to eight weeks. During this closure, motorists will be directed to use a detour over Route J and U.S. 59. Senior Right of Way specialist for MoDot, Holly Hailey, says this bridge is a part of the Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which has reconstructed numerous bridges in Missouri.
