April 26, 2012ST. JOSEPH, MO | By: Wayman
The city of St. Joseph marks its 19th year as having the designation of "Tree City USA" tomorrow.
For that honor, a community forestry program with an annual budget of at least $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance. That ceremony starts tomorrow morning at 10, when city officials will join the Northwest Region Missouri Community Forestry Council and State Department of Conservation for a tree planting. It will be at the Bessie Ellison Elementary School in St. Joseph, with the 4th grade classes helping with the planting.
