Titanic Program

Residents can get a closer look at titanic disaster in Andrew County this weekend.

The Andrew County Museum presents "A Titanic program: The Great Ship in Fact and Historical Memory" this Saturday. The program will cover how the maritime disaster has kept the American public's interest over the past century and how the Titanic has been remembered in stories, songs and film. Museum director, Glenn Uminowicz, says a highlight of the program will be the live demonstration by volunteer Kathy Ridge. Uminowicz says Ridge's demonstration shows the mechanics of the disaster, the why and how.
