April 11, 2012ST. JOSEPH, MO | By: NUELLE
The St. Joseph City manager announced a department level reorganization.
They will reduce the departments from 12 to 8 departments. City manager Bruce Woody says this will free up time for strategic planning and help prevent the need for an assistant in the city manager's office. They will also increase the control of the smaller departments. One goal of the city re-structuring is to more closely associate positions with related missions which would increase work efficiencies between staff and improve customer service These changes will start prior to the end of fiscal year 2012, which is June 2012. Woody says by doing this will save the city of St. Joseph $131,900.
