2 Chillicothe residents are injured after their vehicle struck a tree in Livingston County and caught fire last night.

46 year old Lori Adkison was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM westbound on Route JJ about 2 and a half miles north of Avalon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle crested a hill just after 83 and attempted to avoid a deer, running off the side of road. The vehicle then struck a tree and became engulfed in flames. The driver was moderately injured, along with 26 year old occupant Cody Adkison, neither of which were wearing seatbelts. Both were taken to Hedrick Medical Center.
