Guthrie Memorial

A permanent memorial is being planned for trooper Fred Guthrie Junior.

He's the state water patrol trooper who drowned while patrolling last summer's river flooding around Big Lake. The state park officials are planning a memorial to him as part of upgrades as the park recovers from the flooding. District supervisor Dan Files says the memorial could take one of several forms.
