The Midland Empire Chapter of the Red Cross is host a disaster training course next Tuesday in St. Joseph.

Anyone who is interested in helping the Red Cross with disaster response should attend this event. Registration is required. The purpose is to provide people with information about the Red Cross, how to open a shelter, and also what to do when working on a large scale feeding crew. American Red Cross Emergency Services director Karla Long says right now is the most vulnerable time for disasters in this part of the country.
