April 19, 2012ST. JOSEPH, MO | By: Wayman
A meeting is set for tonight in St. Joseph for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers to explain reservoir space along the Missouri River.
Last summer's flooding happened because reservoirs upstream in the system were overtopped and the excess was released in our region. But the Corps claims even with more free space in the reservoirs, it would not have stopped the record flooding. At tonight's meeting federal officials are also expected to talk about this year's regulation plans. An open house is set for 6 at the Stoney Creek Inn on Woodbine Road in St. Joseph, with the public meeting starting at 7.
