Chillicothe Council

Chillicothe has a new police officer.

During this week's meeting the city council voted unanimously in closed session to hire Jodi Keller as a police officer full time. The council also got a report that asbestos removal at the old Leeper Hotel building is finished. This clears the way for the Leeper to start being demolished within the next several weeks. the city of Chillicothe has also approved demolition of several homes in the city. A list of 10 uninhabited eyesores has been prepared by the codes department. The city has about $130,000 budgeted for their removal.
