The Missouri Department of Conservation is holding a grant workshop in St. Joseph to assist tree resource improvement and maintenance grant applicants.
The tree resources improvement and maintenance grant, known as trim will help communities fund tree inventories, removal or pruning of hazardous trees, tree planting and the training of volunteers and the city/county employees to best care for community forests. Trim grants can provide reimbursements of $1000 to $10,000 to fund up to 60% of money needed for community projects and applications must be submitted by June 1st. The trim workshop in St. Joseph will be held at the regional office at 701 James McCarthy Drive, April 3rd at 2 p.m. For more information, call Lonnie Messbarger at 816-271-3100.
