The Missouri Department of Agriculture is asking patrons of a north Missouri livestock auction to report any unpaid reciepts.
The MDA has received reports of unpaid tickets and is encouraging all Missouri livestock producers and buyers who have not received payment from Daniel Froman of the former Gallatin livestock auction to contact the department immediately. Following the reports and complaints against the auction, the MDA transferred their businesses bond funds of $175,000 and will distribute those funds to those citizens owed payment on a pro rated basis is outstanding bills surpass the $125,000 bond amount. The Gallatin livestock auction's Missouri livestock market license expired in December 2011. The auctions former owner Daniel Froman is serving a 6 year sentence in federal prison on criminal charges related to his actions as a principal of Gallatin grain company.
