The MIssouri court of appeals is announcing it will sit in Maryville later this month.
Judges from the western district as well as state supreme court judge Zel Fisher return to the university in Maryville to hear oral arguments in 4 cases, including a worker's compensation claim involving a former St. Joseph city worker. Court officials say they try to sit in various communities outside of their Kansas City courtroom to allow residents to experience appeals court proceedings and as an educational opportunity. The session may even be temporarily suspended so that the judge and attorneys can explain to the audience points of the proceedings. The Missouri court of appeals western district will sit at Northwest Missouri State University on Monday, March 26th. The court will be in session starting at 1 O'clock.
