Career Fair

About 260 high school sophomores from southwest Iowa are in Maryville today.

Northwest Missouri State is hosting the Southwest Iowa Career Fair. Dean of enrollment management Bev Schenkel says the students are hearing firsthand from professionals in the areas of health science, business, engineering, and other industries about what careers in those fields are like.

Allison Rogers from Nishnabotna high school has about 20 sophomores in for the day exploring careers, which she says is a follow up to a career inventory they took earlier. Rogers says it gives the students an idea of their future direction.
