Theft Ring Arrests

3 King City men are arrested in connection with a string of thefts spanning four counties.

Nodaway County Sheriff Darren White says 20 year old Sam BUrgess, 29 year old William Elssworth, and 18 year old Scott Ellsworth of King City have been charged with a number of crimes. Investigators say the thefts have been in Andrew, DeKalb, Gentry, and Nodaway counties and involve thousands of dollars worth of stolen fencing material, trailers, and 4 wheelers. The sheriff's office says one of the cases involves about 640 steel fence posts worth well over $3,000 from MFA Agriservices in Guilford. The sheriff says stealing has been on the rise during the recent dramatic increase in the value of scrap metal. William Ellsworth and Burgess are both being held in the regional jail at Pattonsburg. Scott Ellsworth is in the Nodaway County Jail.
