Feb. 6, 2012GENTRY COUNTY, MO | By: Roach
The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that Highway US 169 in Gentry county will be closing for a bridge project starting this Thursday.
The bridge being repaired is the old channel island creek bridge which is located approximately a mile and a half south of Stanberry. Motorists will be re-directed to use the detours they will have posted. The detours will include Route E, Route H, and US 168 Highway. This project is apart of the Missouri Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement program which will improve 802 of Missouri's bridges. 190 bridges will be replaced or rehabilitated by the end of this year, in Northwest Missouri. Gentry county alone will under-go construction on 11 of their bridges, under this program. The Old Channel Island Creek Bridge will be the final Safe and Sound Bridge Project to be completed in Gentry county.
