MARYVILLE, MO (2012-01-27)
A winter mix of weather is impacting parts of our listening area this afternoon.
North of Highway 36 a wintery mix of precipitation is settling onto area roads with not much effect. South of Highway 36, However, a snow/ice mixture is creating some hazardous road conditions. This section of precipitation extends from St. Joseph to Moorsevill, southwest of Chillicothe. In Cameron for instance the temperature is holding right around the freezing mark, but the wind chill is bringing that down to 27 degrees, and we are getting reports of slick highways there. In fact that system is effecting I-29 all the way into Kansas City. Right now, MoDOT classifies all roads through north Missouri as "Clear", but those cold temperatures are starting to impact some driving conditions. The precipitation is expected to end around sundown this evening, with tomorrow's high around 45 degrees. As always keep it here to KXCV and KRNW for any updates. You can also check out road conditions from our website, that's at KXCV.org.
