Winter Storm

The snow coming in starting this evening and falling through the night really won't be too bad, but forecasters say it's the cold temperatures that could create dangerously slick conditions tomorrow morning.

Most of our Missouri listening area is under a winter weather advisory from 6 this evening through 9 tomorrow morning. Snow estimates are for up to an inch and a half by tomorrow morning for most of our area, but 1 to 3 inches possible from Bethany down to Chillicothe and east. But the weather service is warning snow falling this evening will probably melt on the roads, but overnight temperatures and freezing winds will re-freeze the melted snow, creating the potential for a glaze of ice. Forecasters say even if snow fall doesn't look that bad tomorrow morning, it's the ice underneath that could cause some dangerous driving conditions. As always you can check our website for the latest road conditions, that's at KXCV.org.
