The corporate pork producer in north Missouri has completed a milestone for it's court-ordered upgrades.
Premium Standard Farms based in Princeton says it's completed installing 7 million dollars worth of barn scrapers at its farms throughout north Missouri. Those are squeegee-like machines that scrape waste off the floors of the hog barns and into pits, where it can later be used as fertilizer. Company officials say finishing installing the technology is 7 months ahead of schedule, and has exceeded expectations on how it's working.
