Prison Death

An autopsy is planned on a Kansas City woman who died less than two months after starting a prison sentence for drunken driving.

46-year-old Krechenna Kendrick was an inmate at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in northwest Missouri. The prison's warden, Steve Larkins, said Kendrick died just before 6 Friday morning at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. Online court records show Kendrick was arrested last March in the Kansas City suburb of Riverside and pleaded guilty Nov. 10th to being a persistent offender to felony driving while intoxicated. She was sentenced to 3 years in prison. Kendrick entered the correctional system 37 days before her death.
