New Hospital

The state has approved the final hurdle in building Chillicothe's new hospital.

The certificate of need was approved this week. Headrick Medical Center CEO Matt Wenzel says final design and finances are being worked on the next few months before groundbreaking. He says replacing the 1970's era hospital will help the entire Chillicothe region.

The new facility will be about 85,000 square feet and should be open next fall.
