Maryville School Representative

Maryville R-2 Board of Education selected a student to represent the district.

Senior Traci Shipps has been selected to represent the Maryville R-2 School District at a regional level for the John T. Belcher Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is sponsored by the educational foundation of the Missouri School Boards Association, future builders. Shipps is a member of national honor society, student council, FBLA, FCCLA, Leo Club, Skills USA, as well as being a 4 year member of the volleyball team. Shipps has completed several honors classes with 4 years on the honor roll while representing Maryville high school at Missouri Girls State, skills USA fall leadership conference and math and science olympiads. Her career goals include a medical degree with an undergraduate in exercise science. 17 regional winners will be selected for a $1,500 scholarship based on academic achievement, need, leadership abilities, and quality of an essay related to public education. The other 16 regional winners will be awarded with $750 scholarship.
