Leeper Hotel Vote

The Chillicothe City Council turns down a developer's plan to rebuild the old Leeper Hotel.

Both the Main Street Chillicothe Group and a developer was asking the council to approve plans to make the vacant building into apartments. But mayor Chuck Haney says the council's vote was 4 to one against the plan, mainly because of the condition of the structure.

Haney adds there's currently no state economic incentive programs like a "TIF" or "CID" for downtown Chillicothe, another reason re-developing the hotel building is stalled.
