The annual Great Northwest event is today in Missouri's state capitol.

This year about 350 community leaders from 18 counties in the northwest corner of the state are meeting with lawmakers and explaining the importance of transportation funding, 911 emergency services, and underfunded mandates on local governments. Nodaway County coordinator Luke Reven says the goal is to focus on those issues as a region and to bring up others as individual communities.
