Employment Reform

A senate hearing this week on Savannah senator Brad Lager's bill is drawing praise from the state chamber of commerce.

Lager's Senate Bill 592 seeks to re-align Missouri's employment law to mirror federal statutes. It's one of the first to get a legislative hearing this session. Lager says his bill address a number of employment reforms.

The Missouri chamber says having a hearing on the bill this early in the session shows lawmakers are serious about keeping Missouri from being one of the easiest states in the nation to allow frivolous lawsuits to be filed.
