North Missouri residents still have more than 8 million dollars owed to them.

The money is sitting in the state's unclaimed property fund. The state treasurer says 67,000 accounts worth 8 and a half million dollars are due to residents in Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, and Worth counties. But the whereabouts of those account owners are unknown to state officials. You can search the database to see if your name is listed in the unclaimed property. The website is showmemoney.com
