Holiday Waste

Gifts are popular, but may not even touch the amount of waste generated during the holidays.

Between thanksgiving and new year's day, American throw away 25% more trash than any other time of the year, totaling about 25 million tons of extra garbage. Reo Menning is an Iowa expert on waste disposal and says there are some things you can do to reduce that amount, including recycling.
