Worth county's former sheriff will serve 18 months in federal prison for violating citizen's rights.
Neal "Bear" Groom admitted in August the coerced 8 women into exposing themselves to him under the excuse he was checking them for drug injections or domestic abuse evidence. Federal authorities charged him with violating the women's civil rights. An investigation was launched involving the FBI and the US Attorney Office, and a judge sentenced Groom to the 18 months in prison, as well as a year of supervision after his release.
