Donations are being accepted for a family in Elmo that lost everything in a house fire this weekend.
The Laurie and Leo Long house was a total loss after a fire broke out about 6 O'clock Saturday evening. The family escaped uninjured but was only able to save just 3 or 4 items. Now, the Long family benefit fund has been set up at Citizens Bank and Trust in Maryville for monetary donations. Any Citizen's Bank and Trust branch will also accept funds. Organizers say those will be the easiest to handle. However, clothing or household items aren't being collected as of yet because of lack of storage, but if you have those donations a contact list is being put together. Women's shoes size 9, XL shirts and 14 pants are needed as well as clothes for a teen age boy wearing a 13 shoe, 3 X shirts, and Jeans measuring 46 by 32. You can call in your offer of clothing or household items by contacting Carma at the University's Alumni House, that number is 660-562-1248.
