Commission Resigning

The 2nd district commissioner in Atchison county Kansas is announcing his resignation.

Jerry Madden plans to leave the seat he's held since 2008 on January 3rd, citing desire to devote more time to his job in Kansas City and as the assistant wrestling coach at the Atchison County Community High School. Madden says he's proud of his tenure as second district commissioner.

The county's Republican chair and precinct chairs will choose a candidate to fill the remainder of Madden's term, pending approval from governor Brownback.
