Woods Appearance

The Hopkins man charged in the traffic death of 3 people appears in court this morning.

Investigators say Scott Woods was driving the pickup in late October near Hopkins that overturned, ejecting 7 people and then catching on fire. Two Hopkins men and a Lake View Iowa woman thrown from the truck died. 3 other passengers were injured. Woods faces multiple felonies, including involuntary manslaughter and several counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury. Today in court he and his attorney waived his preliminary hearing. His next court appearance is set for late December.
