Missouri's governor is again calling for more federal aid to northwest Missouri counties impacted by the August hail storm.

Governor Nixon has sent a letter to federal AG officials asking the counties of Andrew, Atchison, Gentry, and Nodaway be declared primary disaster areas. The request comes after assessments from the Farm Service Agency. State officials say those counties are eligible for federal financial help because at least 30 percent of crop yields were wiped out in the severe stroms August 18th through the 22nd. If approved, producers in counties next to the primary disaster area could also be eligible for assistance.
