Science Sickness

Air testing is being done in a science lab on the Northwest campus today after three students get sick and a lab is evacuated.

It happened around 8:30 this morning during a chemistry lab lecture at the Garret-Strong science building on the Maryville campus. Junior biology major Jessica Reel was in the lab when the incident happened and says they weren't even working with chemicals or burners when two females passed out.

The room was immediately evacuated and the students are expected recover. University officials say they want to make sure the air quality in the lab is perfectly normal before anyone re-enters or classes there resume. The building itself does not appear to have been effected.
