MO Science Funding

The Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Northwest Missouri State and the Kit Bond Incubator at Missouri Western both could be helped by a new state law.

Governor Nixon was in Kansas City yesterday to sign the Missouri Science and Innovation and Reinvestment Act, or "MOSIRA". The bill will collect money from revenue growth in the science and technology industries and reinvest it in those areas. It also places an emphasis on the partnership between scientists and entrepreneurs. MOSIRA supports existing bio-tech and other businesses with money for training, but the governor says it's greatest strength will be in newer business.
