Library Levy

The city of Clarinda has a new ballot item for the upcoming elections on November 8th.

The Lied Public Library is proposing a levy to raise funds for the community icon. Andrew Hoppmann, the library director says this bill is very important for Clarinda residents.

Funds raised by the levy will help to increase the number of items the library has to offer as well as increase its hours of operation. The cost to Clarinda residents is based on property value with a home worth $100,000 resulting in $27 annually for the homeowner. The total annual yield of the levy is estimated at $30,000.
