A lieutenant from the Northwest Missouri Highway Patrol Troop recently completed an increased training course.
Lieutenant James McDonald is headquartered at Troop H and was among 12 members of the Highway patrol to graduate from the Northwestern School of police staff and command. That's an intensive 10-week program through Northwestern University's Center for Public Safety. McDonald and his cohort studied a blend of academic principles and practical applications, with a research project directly tied to their home agencies. Besides the dozen highway patrol staffers, law enforcement from 12 sheriff and police departments from around Missouri and Arkansas also participated in the program.
