The city of St. Joseph has announced its list of candidates to fill the director of public works position.
All three candidates have extensive experience in government and engineering. Denis Atwood spent nearly a decade working for the Public Works Department in the city of Las Vegas before retuning to the private sector. David Botts has served as Public Works director of Beloit, Wisconsin for 13 years. Jody Carlson is a licensed engineer who has spent almost 20 years working for the state of Missouri. The candidates will be in town over the next few weeks participate in a day long series of interviews and a tour of the community. City manager Bruce Woody hopes to name a director as soon as possible.
