St. Francis Hospital in Maryville is announcing it will be moving to a new electronic health record database in the spring.
Called EHR, or "Epic Electronic Health Record", it will allow doctors, nurses, technicians, and others in the hospital easier access to their patient's records. St. Francis officials say accessing the data can speed up treatment as well as waiting times for patients. They also point to a recent study that said one of every seven primary care visits were effected by missing medical information. The new system is on target to launch in Maryville on March 31st.
