Shots Fired

Two Maryville Public Safety officers responding to a fight at the Senior Center were struck by a car as one of the suspects was fleeing the scene.

The incident happened late Saturday night on Maryville's east side. Director of Maryville Public Safety, Keith Wood, says shots were fired as the suspect fled the scene.

There is no word on if the officers were injured. Arrested is Andrew Griffon, a 20 year old from Kansas City. Griffon has been charged with two felonies of assaulting a police officer and one felony charge of first degree assault. Griffon's bond is set at $100,000 with a court appearance scheduled for November 1st in Nodaway county.
