Red Ribbon Chopper

Two schools in our region are bringing in the big guns in the fight against drug and alcohol abuse this week.

The Missouri National Guard is flying in an OH 58 Kiowa helicopter to both Mid-Buchanan High School and DeKalb Middle and High School. The air soldiers are part of the Missouri National Guard's counter drug task force. The team for the guard's drug demand reduction coordinator for Western Missouri says flying in the helicopter during red Ribbon Week is a great way to make a lasting impression on the students while presenting a drug-free message. The Kiowa will land Thursday morning at 9 at mid-Buchanan High School. It arrives at DeKalb Middle/High School this Friday morning, also at 9.
