Names Released

We now know the names of the three men killed in the Atchison Grain elevator explosion.

Authorities have identified 20 year old Chad Roberts, 21 year old Ryan Federinko, and 24 year old John Burke. Crews had to suspend the search yesterday for 3 workers still missing. It happened about 7:15 Saturday night at the Bartlett Grain Company elevator. A dozen people were at the site when it happened. 4 people escaped without injury three workers were killed, 2 were flown to KU Med with severe burns, three remain missing, including a state grain inspector. The blast was felt miles away and the fireball was seen across the river in St. Joseph. Atchison City manager Trey Cocking says the search had to be suspended yesterday while crews wait for more specialized equipment. He says the complex is just too unstable to be safe.

Rescue crews from Kansas City Kansas, Olathe, and northwest Missouri were called into to help with the aftermath.
