More money is on its way to northwest Missouri communities recovering from flood damage.
The US Department of Labor is announcing it's issuing a national emergency grant to try and create temporary jobs for dislocated workers. Federal authorities recognize this summer flooding along the Missouri River was the worst in 60 years, and are releasing an initial 1.1 million dollars with a total of 2.2 million being released during the next several months. In our region, this will go to dislocated workers in the Missouri counties of Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Carroll, and Holt.
